What is rally raid?

A multi-stage race across open terrain. Navigation, endurance and mechanical skills matter alongside speed. Motocross, by contrast, takes place on a closed circuit.

How does navigation work?

Riders use a roadbook with route instructions and checkpoints. Reading the terrain matters as much as riding fast.

What are bivouacs and marathon stages?

The bivouac is the rally’s base for servicing, rest and preparation. Marathon stages restrict normal team assistance; the organiser sets the rules for each edition.

Which Czech riders should I follow?

Dušan Drdaj, Martin Michek, Milan Engel, David Pabiška, Martin Prokeš and Jiří Brož. Czech riders have a strong Dakar presence. Find the latest entry list on the official race website.
